I was given some advice right after marriage that has stuck with me these past couple of months. It's OK to watch television in separate rooms. When you start sleeping in separate rooms you need to reevaluate your relationship. So this is how we compromise, I am FORCED to watch TV in our bedroom while laying around on our very new, very comfortable king size bed. While the husband stretches out in front of the 60 inch flat screen that was our very first purchase. We literally sat it on the floor and watched TV in folding chairs until we could buy real furniture. But the 60 inch was a NEED, not a want :)
I was really quite uncertain why the husband and I couldn't agree on what to watch. So I've created a list of top television shows that each of us enjoy. This really brought things into perspective..
Husband's Top Picks
- ESPN (this can be anything sports related. He enjoys everything from Football and Baseball to Ice fishing and bowling)
- GOLF channel (not to be outdone by ESPN)
- TRU TV (Lizard Lick Towing, Operation Repo & All Worked Up)
- Military Channel ( I have to admit I can watch this one every once in a while with him)
- Anything related to people serving time. JAIL, MSNBC Behind Bars etc.
- BRAVO TV (Real Housewives of anywhere, Jeff Lewis Flipping Out, Bethany Getting Married, Bethany Ever After etc.)
- E! (Keeping up with the Kardashians, Lamar & Khloe, E! News etc.)
- MTV (Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, True Life, Real World/Road Rules Challenges Duels or whatever they're called now)
- HGTV (My First Home, anything remodel related)
- Anything reality that I may have left off (Survivor, American Idol, Bachelor Pad, Bachelor Bachelorette etc.)
